Yesterday an american hiker who had been hiking on the border of Iraq and Iran was release from being detained. She was reunited with her parents in Muscat, Oman. She had been held for 14 months in a Tehran prison. Her name is Sarah Shourd. she arrived in Oman after a two and half hour plane ride from Tehran. She told reporters upon her arrival at the airport, "I want to begin by giving my deepest thanks to the sultan of Oman, Sultan Qaboos," even though they did not even violate any of the governments' laws while they were hiking in the first place.
The Iranian officials had accused the three Americans of skying for the U.S.A..
